Read Across America
March 1-5 is Read Across America Week, (aka Dr. Seuss week). During this week, Satilla Elementary celebrated the well-known American author, Dr. Seuss. Many decades ago, he wrote children’s books that are still popular today. Read Across America Week was invented to motivate kids to read more. For Dr. Seuss week, people dress up as many different characters from the amazing books and have various activities to promote the love of reading. The dress up days at Satilla Elementary were: Monday - Fox in Socks Day, Tuesday - Cat in the Hat Day, Wednesday - Sleep Book Day, Thursday - Oh the Places You will Go! Day, and Friday - One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish Day.
